At Wayside we have nature at our heart. We invest where we can to help the planet as much as possible. We use the highest quality herbs that rigorously checked by our organic suppliers. Most are grown in Europe with the exception of the spices like ginger and turmeric which are from Asia.
We are advocates of loose leaf teas. Many tea-bags contain plastic, bits of string, printed card and sometimes staples. Using loose tea and a teapot is not only fun, but the left over leaves can go on your home compost or in your food waste bin. Loose tea in a pot also makes a better cuppa.
With the tea tins and some of the brown kraft packs, the interior bag is Vegware – a patented plant-based plastic that is compostable. In my own tests the bag had totally gone in two months. The tin is reusable and is sourced from a UK company that is a B Corps which certifies ethical and sustainable trading.
Keep your tins and bring them to Dursley market as we can produce refills for you or reuse your tins!
All my used herbs and the plastic vegware bags go on the compost. Delicious!
